It’s Labor Day!

Hey there,

This week has been so crazy and so fun!

On set at the Elite Daily Show

The week started in LA, spending time with my Mom and filming another episode of The Elite Daily Show.

When I came home Kim and I got a few lazy days to ourselves and went on an impromptu adventure in downtown San Diego. We started at our favorite breakfast spot Richard Walker’s (easily the best bacon, coffee and hash browns in town), then we walked towards East Village to go the new San Diego Central Library that has incredible view of San Diego Bay from the 9th floor which can be seen from an outdoor patio! The patio sits right under the building’s trademark dome that can be seen when flying over San Diego.

Kim and I were suddenly inspired by the work space that is provided throughout the library, figuring it could serve as a work space should we need it someday. From there Kim insisted we find a rent-able office space, that was somewhere downtown (spoiler alert it isn’t there anymore), and on the way there we walked past Krisp, a liquor store, pizza place and mini mart rolled into one. And let me say, it was HHUUGGEE! There was more beer in there than I ever thought existed, and on top of that they had all kinds of wine and liquor too. We continued our walk and ended up walking past Donut Bar 20 minutes before their evening service that starts at 5pm! What a nice surprise!

Treats!

We bought a creme burlee, red velvet, strawberry cheesecake and a blueberry filing donut. The strawberry cheesecake and blueberry filing one were the best! The other two were forgettable.

To further our food excursion, we went to North Park to buy hamburger meat and pollo asada from Heart and Trotter, a whole animal butchery. The meat comes from local farms, and as in the name they use the whole animal. Everything we’ve bought there has been so good! It’s a little pricier then your typical grocery store but totally worth it.

Our little excursion was the highlight of my week, given that the rest of it was mostly work, granted it’s work I joyfully do. Since today the last day of the three day weekend, Kim and I are thinking we may go to the beach or avoid the crowds altogether and try to finish moving into our place…5 months in and we still have boxes in the garage!

Anyways, I hope you get a chance to visit these places around town and enjoy them as much as I do!

Happy Labor Day!

Ayo
